Still thinking it over?
Here’s what to expect.
Booking a consultation with Matthew takes about 60 seconds right now. The consultation itself takes about 30 minutes — by phone or in person at our Davis office, whichever works for you.
Here’s what happens during the consultation:
You tell Matthew about your family, your property, and what matters most to you. He listens. He asks a few questions. Then he explains your options in plain English — no legal jargon, no pressure, no surprises.
Most people leave feeling relieved they finally did it.
Why Yolo County families call
Legacy Law Solutions
California probate is brutal. It can take over almost two years and cost your family 4% or more of your estate in statutory fees alone. A proper estate plan keeps your family out of court entirely.
Your home deserves to stay in the family. If you own property in Davis, Woodland, West Sacramento, Winters, or Dixon, you have more at stake than you might think. We make sure it goes where you want it to go.
Your kids need a guardian you chose. If something happened to you tomorrow, who raises your children? A will answers that question. Without one, the state does.
Medi-Cal and long-term care can wipe out a lifetime of savings. We help you plan ahead so that the cost of getting older doesn’t undo everything you’ve built.
OUR PLAIN LANGUAGE GUARANTEE
If you don’t fully understand your estate plan after working with us, we’ll schedule additional time at no charge until you do.
No legalese. Straight talk, start to finish. No exceptions.

Common questions before you book
Is there a fee for the consultation?
Yes. Matthew charges $250 for the initial consultation. That fee is credited in full toward your estate plan when you retain the firm. So if you move forward, the consultation costs you nothing extra.
How long does it take to complete an estate plan?
Most straightforward estate plans are completed within 4 to 6 weeks of your consultation. Matthew will give you a realistic timeline during your appointment.
Do I need to come into the office?
No. Matthew works with clients by phone and video as well as in person at the Davis office. Whatever is most convenient for you.
I already have a will. Do I still need an estate plan?
Possibly. A will alone doesn’t avoid probate in California and may not be enough to protect your assets or your family the way you intend. The consultation is the right place to find out where you stand.
What if I’m not ready to commit to anything yet?
That’s completely fine. The consultation is a conversation, not a sales pitch. You’ll leave with a clear picture of your options and no obligation to do anything on the spot.
